.The Midwest Fleadh is one of two qualifying competitions in North American and Canada where the first and second place competitors qualify to compete in Fleadh Cheoil Na hEireann - the All Ireland Fleadh - which is held annually in Ireland.

Murphy Roche Irish Music Club Members at the World Competition:  Each year Irish musicians and singers from around the world travel to Ireland for the Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann, held in 2009 in Tullamore, County Offaly.  In qualifying for this world competition, all have distinguished themselves through excellent performance in regional competitions in their home countries.   The Fleadh draws 200,000 people to hear 12,000 competitors attain peak quality in their performances.  Representing the Murphy Roche Irish Music Club this year were:  (list).  For each competitor, the main prize is always world-class inspiration on her or his road to excellence in Irish music and song.  It's inspiration they share when back home with other club members and their audiences.
